from a single sheet of Bronze, with high crown forming a bird, a scroll
type pattern etched into the forehead. The Greeks called themselves
Hellenes and their land Hellas. They never formed a national government
but were united by a common culture, religion and language. Green
patina and earthen encrustations. Very rare.
tablet with cuneiform inscriptions on both sides. Thousands of
terracotta tablets and inscriptions that have been preserved tell about
the Sumerian government, law, business practices, and religion. The
tablets also show that the Sumerians had some knowledge of mathematics,
astronomy and medicine.
alabaster of a standing bearded worshipper with wavy hair, upper body
bare, wearing a skirt with a tufted border on a base, the hands clasped
together in an attitude of devotion. Incised cuneiforms on the back.
from bronze with seven rows of distinct inscription. Green patina. Each
soldier in the Roman army was provided with a diploma which served as
portable evidence of his civil rights, including citizenship and
marriage. It was preserved as an important legal document by its
recipient and his descendants.
