Ancient Egyptian artifacts stone wall fragment
Sandstone carving of the God Amun, with visible phallus. Amun was earlier a God of air and wind but later a fertility God, the creator of all things. During the New Kingdom he became ”the King of the Gods” and was believed to be able to assume any form he wished, each of the other Gods being one of these forms. From the 18th Dynasty on he was a national deity and through political means, managed to assimilate many lesser Gods. Broken and re-adhered. 18th Dynasty.
