Treasures of the World Artifact Spotlight:
Silver mirror with high relief of animals including sea creatures, birds, and fruits. Hole for stringing. Green patina.
Lot of 3: Brass rings with a silver wash, with an oval agate gemstone as the central setting. Incised floral and linear designs to the brass setting.
Bronze vessel with a spherical shape, pedestal base, wide flaring lip and Bronze circular medallions attached to the side, a number of which are now missing. Persian calligraphy is inscribed on the base. At first, Persian script was unwieldy and difficult to read and write. By the 10th Century, punctuation had been developed and the letters streamlined. As artists began to write in a flowing and rhythmic manner, different styles of calligraphy evolved. Covered in a deep green patina.
