Hollow terracotta Harpokrates, the name given to this Egyptian God by the Greek to honor this God of the sky, represented as a young boy with a sunburst behind the head, unusually large, hollow, flattened in design with traces of white gesso. Harpokrates may wear a cap with a Uraeus, a double crown, a nemes, a crown over his sidelock of youth and is often represented as a young boy with a sunburst behind his head. His cult, combined with that of Isis and Serapis, was very popular in the Roman Empire. Sacred animals: goose and falcon. Egypto-Roman.
