Sandstone carving of Horus and Anubis in profile looking in opposite directions with one line of hieroglyphics on each side to the top corners. Horus, the Egyptian sky God, in human form with head of a falcon wearing a royal crown. The sun and the moon are said to be his eyes. Son of Isis and the dead Osiris. The jackal-headed Anubis, the patron God of embalming who presided over mummification and accompanied the dead to the hereafter. Light earthen patina. New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty.
