Bronze seated Sekhmet. She is depicted as a lioness, her breath was associated with the hot winds of the desert. Her name meant "the mighty one" and she was associated with war and appropriate retaliation. Shown in a seated position with solar disc on head. Green patina with some earthen encrustations. 26th Dynasty. Late Kingdom.
