Ancient Egyptian artifacts scarab
Limestone brown scarab, once placed on the throat, chest, or heart of the Mummy. Some were worn by the deceased on a necklace, or mounted in gold settings as a pectoral. heart scarabs provided the bearer with the assurance that at the final judgment as depicted in the Book of the Dead, the bearer would be found ”True of Voice” and accepted into the eternal afterlife by the God Osiris. Made of brown limestone with Egyptian symbols, a bull, a bird, a human figurine, a cartouche and hieroglyphics at the bottom. Very attractive and beautiful. Drill hole for wearing. Third Intermediate.
Baule Tribe mask
Used for ceremonial dancing. Celebrating peace and joy, they would sing, dance, and drink palm wine. In a natural wood finish the face is elongated with open silt almond shaped eyes and a small opened mouth. Two horns protrude from the top of the head. Stylized beard on the lower portion of the face. and covered in a light earthen patina.
