Anthropoid terracotta sarcophagus fragment in a silver frame. Cylindrical coffins are life size or even taller. Lids bearing a modeled human face and arms in a variety of styles closed the openings in their upper parts. The coffins were built up of coils and the lid was cut out of “leather hard” clay so that it usually fitted the opening exactly.
