Authentic ancient artfacts, Egyptian antiquities. Carved light green limestone heart scarab, once placed on the throat, chest, or heart of the Mummy. Some were worn by the deceased on a necklace, or mounted in gold settings as a pectoral. Heart scarabs provided the bearer with the assurance that at the final judgment as depicted in the Book of the Dead, the bearer would be found ”True of Voice” and accepted into the eternal afterlife by the God Osiris. With seated falcons and a cartouche on the top, and six lines of Egyptian symbols on the bottom. Unusually large and beautiful. Third Intermediate.

Egyptian Statues
Hollow bronze seated cat statue with traces of green patina. The earliest Egyptian depiction of the cat took the form of three hieroglyph symbols, each representing seated cats. These formed part of the phrase 'Lord of the City of Cats’ inscribed on a stone block from El-Lisht that may date as early as the reign of Pepy II, 2278-2184 BC. The Egyptian word for cat was the onomatopoeic term miw. A rare piece. 26th Dynasty.
