Prehistoric axe
Homo Erectus stone hand axe. Fits easily into the palm with indented area for the thumb. These tools were likely used to cut plants or meat but may have also served as weapons when hunting animals for food. Most tools were clearly intended to be used by the bare hands although some were fitted to wooden handles. Great Rift Valley, Africa.

Japanese sword and scabbard
The name of the Japanese maker and the sun are engraved onto the blade, the scabbard with a wooden core covered in a gold metal sheeting, the traditional diamond and chrysanthemum patterns and a row of Japanese characters etched onto the surface to one side, a dragon to the other, the hilt with metal sheeting with more Japanese characters.
