Covered in an earthen encrustation. 18th Dynasty

Silver Romulus and Remus coin with a side portrait of a ruler, on the reverse, Romulus and Remus being nursed by a she-wolf. Amulius, fearing that Romulus and Remus would grow up to overthrow him, had them placed in a trough and thrown into the River Tiber where they were later found by a she-wolf who, instead of killing them, looked after them and fed them with her milk.
