Baule Tribe mask
African Baule Tribe mask. Used for ceremonial dancing. In a natural wood finish, open slit almond shaped eyes and a small opened mouth with carvings on either side, appears to be whistling. Stylized hairdressing in an upswept style and a stylized beard.
Egyptian Ushabtis
Terracotta Ushabti with traces of brown, light blue, and black, the arms crossed over the chest farm tools in both hands, one line of hieroglyphs to the front. Often called "Servants of the Afterlife," Ushabtis were placed in the tomb of the mummy and were intended to be servants that would magically come to life and do any chore the mummy might be called upon to perform in the afterlife. 18th Dynasty.
