Macedonian helmets 330 BC
 
Macedonian Bronze helmet from the time of Alexander the Great, worn in the Macedonian Army, used in Ancient Greek warfare. Hammered from a single sheet of Bronze, with high crown, long flaps at the ears, and flaring rim in the back. The ancient Greeks called themselves Hellenes and their land Hellas. They never formed a national government but were united by a common culture, religion and language. Covered in green patina and earthen encrustations. Very rare.
