Carved wooden Kpelie mask used during initiations, two faces side by side sharing a headdress with six protruding cones, traces of red and white, long noses, protruding foreheads, and narrow openings for the eyes, two horns hang at the bottom, two holes towards the back for hanging. Light earthen patina.
Depicts a human figurine, flat body, elongated neck, and curved body with traces of red and brown paint on the body, covered with beautiful designs. The face is in the shape of a cone. In Boeotian art, black and red figures were used. The decoration consists of mostly burlesque scenes, in which Gods and heroes are caricatured with Aristophacian humor. Covered in earthen patina.
