Egyptian Cartonnage fragment
Cartonnage fragment with a mummy, a falcon and bird overlooking. The black, red, orange, beige, and green surface secured to the linen base. Twelve lines of hieroglyphics. Displayed in a shadow box. New Kingdom, 20th Dynasty
Persian plate
Silver with an intricate raised design to the surface, a mythical horned creature, its wings and body covered in scales, the center with a rider in flowing ankle length robes turned to the back while playing a flutelike instrument, the music listened to by a bird also to the back, a leaping lion behind, two small fish in a pond to the bottom, a border of hearts surrounding the central panel. A remarkable example of silversmithing and in excellent condition.
Ancient Egyptian artifacts scarab
Large light green limestone heart scarab, once placed on the throat, chest, or heart of the Mummy. Some were worn by the deceased on a necklace, or mounted in Gold settings as a pectoral. heart scarabs provided the bearer with the assurance that at the final judgment as depicted in the Book of the Dead, the bearer would be found ”True of Voice” and accepted into the eternal afterlife by the God Osiris. Made of limestone with two Eyes of Horus on the top. Cartouche on the bottom. Third Intermediate.
