Roman artifacts mold
Bronze hexagon shaped jewelry mold, used for making jewelry such as pendants, earrings, etc. The jewelry were made by the lost wax technique, which was widely known from the Late Bronze Age onwards. This technique involves the following stages: two stone or terracotta molds are made with the form of the jewelry worked on them in reverse, in intaglio. Precisely half the piece was carved on each mold. Molten wax was poured into these molds, which was then replaced by molten metal.
