Sandstone carving with the image of the Goddess Hathor, the Egyptian protective Goddess of love and joy, wearing a headdress of horns and a sun disk. With one line of hieroglyphic symbols. The wife of Horus, she was sometimes thought of as the mother of the Pharaoh. Hathor was connected with foreign places and materials, and was also the Goddess of the desert and the turquoise mines of the Sinai. New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty.
