Mambila statues embody ancestors who, according to their beliefs, are responsible for the clan’s wealth. This wooden figure appears with bent legs, an enlarged head outlined in wooden pegs of which a number have broken off, the hands to the pointed chin beard, the curved stomach area flattened with more wooden pegs. Covered in a heavy dark patina.
