A rare wooden tablet covered with stucco and then painted: A ruler along with Isis, perhaps known as the most important goddess of all Egyptian mythology, her most important functions being those of motherhood, marital devotion, healing the sick and the working of magical spells and charms, appears to the top, six other rulers, the jackal-headed Anubis worshipped as the inventor of embalming and believed to have embalmed the dead Osiris thus helping preserve him in order to live again, Horus, the son of Isis and Osiris and the god who performed the rite of “opening of the mouth” on his dead father thus legitimizing his succession to the throne as earthly ruler, along with Isis and other figures to the bottom, nine rows of hieroglypics to the front. Very colorful. 18th Dynasty.
