Carved from wood with an elaborate, high headdress of small lizard-like creatures. In the small kingdom of Bangwa, the heads of statues and masks feature puffed-out cheeks. In Bamileke territories, the masks that elicit fear and apprehension are the work of societies responsible for repression. Covered with a light earthen patina.
