Philip V silver tetradrachm. Philip V came to power in 221 BC after the death of Antigonos Doson. A vigorous ruler, he maintained the power of the Macedonian Kingdom in the earlier part of his reign but made a mistake of arousing the ire of the Romans. In 197 BC, his power was crushed at the battle of Kynoskephalai by a Roman general. The bearded head of Phillip V on the obverse, a thunderbolt outside a wreath on reverse.
