Freestanding Bronze Hercules, the Roman name for the greatest hero in Greek mythology. Like most authentic heroes, Hercules had a God as one of his parents: the son of the supreme deity Zeus and a mortal woman, Alcmene. Hercules was the God of strength and performed twelve labors for which he is famous. This figure shows the bearded Hercules with hands clenched, the robe draped over the left arm. Covered in a deep rich green patina.
